Windows Live Messenger Beta 8

Friend of mine gave me the DL and the "hack" so that you didn't have to be part of the beta to try it. I did, and I hated it. IMHO they are trying to cram waaaay to much junk in to an IM client. Everything seemed so cluttered.

I prefer the clean and simple GoogleTalk, but hardly anyone I know uses it. After about an hour with it on, I went back to 7.5 of Messenger.
 
I LOVE IT! I think it's VERY clean looking, and everything is so accessible without feeling cluttered. And i love the offline IMing and shared folders.

AIM is really only dominant in the US because of AOL. AFAIK in most other places MSN is more widely used; to give you an idea, I don't know anyone of my friends that uses AIM
 
MSN in my opinion is a very superior msg'ing program to AIM. I like MSN msger. Can I use my existing msn account for the Live msger?



I LOVE GOOGLE. It seems Google started this whole thing on improving the internet UI. Now Yahoo Mail beta is awesome. yahoomaps beta is pretty cool now too. Now, my yahoo email has 1 gig storage.

And the whole Live concept from microsoft is pretty neat as well.

Thx Google for sparking up the competition, and making all these internet heavyweights better. And it's generating jobs, etc....

Just started experimenting w/ yahoo!'s newest version of their yahoo! chat. you can tell they feel the heat from Google 🙂

hmm, it looks ... bigger? It's a cleaner interface, but it's something I have to get used to, after using msn for awhile now.

I'm trying to get rid of some of the extra stuff, but can't seem to find it. I rarely click on anything on the left, but can't seem to get rid of it. I don't like the names being expanding like that as you move your mouse over it. A tool-tip-like info was better.


EDIT: got rid of the tabs, under the security options. now to get rid of everything else but the buddy list window. I don't need the search thing, nor that "info" box thing.
