Windows Live Local is the sh!t!

Not really that great, can't find my address, google can.

Edit: It found it, but the picture was old school black and white.

It is hit or miss. My house is better on Mapquest (now called Live), but Google has better pics of some other places I have looked for. But, the new feature to compete with Google Earth is really cool (and you don't have to have some space stealing applette loaded - Google Earth and XP roaming user accounts are NOT friends)

Guys just try to do some general things like searching for directions, adding pushpins, etc. You'll see it's much more convenient to use than Google Maps.

Now post me pics!

woah. Birds eye of my house is sweet!. That must have been taken quite a long time ago though since my yard looks a little bit different now.

Yeah... for the Bird's Eye view Windows LIve Local blows Google away. Unfortunately, it's not available everywhere...

How do you turn it on?

If it's available for the area you are viewing, a link will show up on the left-hand zoom toolbar next to the "Road" and "Arial" selections.

Try this link for an example:

http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=qx1ps1851vj9&******o&lvl=2&scene=1536934&sp=

i, for one, will only be impressed when they give us a live hi-def satellite feed of not only birds-eye view, but close up window shots of unsuspecting (hot) ladies changing in the comfort of the own home or showering in the bathroom

seriously, did anyone find the zoom/scroll that both windows live and google have impressive? i mean this is the web, not a program.

Neither of you guys are doing your links right, they're getting cut off. Use the copy to clipboard function and then hide the URL with text on here.

The links still work.

Haha they certainly don't for me, neither of them do. Mine works for you, though?
