I was planning some trial and error work, I was hoping somebody had done it before to save me some time and provide a start point.Think it may be a case of doing some trials.
Cool. Downloaded it and have it on my list of stuff to try. Just went to #1.clonezilla works too
I've used gparted to help migrate operating systems from a hard drive to an SSD, but I'm not sure how it would handle the boot sectors of a dual boot cloning operation.gparted is a nice livecd distro designed for partition management.
Clonezilla did the job.
I've used Acronis for my Windows cloning tasks, I think I will switch to Clonezilla; more options.
I use cloning software like Clonezilla mainly on XP and Linux computers. With the SSD I have on my Windows 7 rig, I use the Windows Backup/Imaging tool to back up the boot drive to various hard drives. With clonezilla + SSDs, no reason not to backup the SSD into a HDD regularly
