I recently did a reinstall of WinXP on my Inspiron 2100. After doing some Windows Updates all of a sudden my windows key now opens the help file for whichever program is focused. If no windows are open then it just opens the general windows help file. I have no idea why it's doing this. Help please!

Sounds like your key mapping got boned somehow...I'm not really sure how to fix it, but do a search for "key mapping" or similar and see what you get. I know there was some other threads of that nature. If this doesn't help, consider it a friendly bump. Good luck.
EDIT: may also help to re-name the title of the thread to "Windows hot key borked" or something similiar. I thought this was going to be something about Windows install key. Others may pass on this thread thinking the same.
