I'm running a Pentium 133 MMX with 164 Megs of RAM, yet, nevertheless, my system continues to have ram problems. I've closed down all of the non-essencial programs, done a full defrag., ran virus protection, changed all backgrounds to .bmp, not .jpg, and etc. NOW WHAT?

exactly what problems are you experiencing with your system if you ignore the memory usage?
btw, what OS are you using?

i noticed that you said that your background images are .bmp, NOT .jpg... just to let you know, bmp's are a larger file size, and would probably slow down your multitasking abilities... Change those babies too jpg and see if there is any difference...
