I've recently had trouble uninstalling older versions of Norton SystemWorks and Apple Quicktime. The uninstallers woulld not run cleanly and the newer versions would not install until those older versions were removed.

This Microsoft utility: Windows Installer CleanUp saved the day for me. It's a great trick to have up your sleeve when software overstays its welcome.

I couldve used this the other day, was cleaning up a new dell laptop for someone and my normal procedure is to delete all of the run registry keys so the programs i want to delete arent running @ startup.

Naturally, norton internet security is backasswards and requires the program to be RUNNING and you to be LOGGED INTO THEIR SERVICE in order to run...

I wound up having to manually delete the NIS folder in safe mode, disable all of the services, and hunt down all of the registry keys. Took me about an hour...

Annoying.

Very useful tool to have! Sometimes you have a program that just won't go away (i.e. the registry settings!) and this is just what the doctor ordered. Thanks, OP!

Wow, I've been looking for this exact tool for weeks. Damn Norton is nearly impossible to erase all traces of.
