Windows in movies

How come they never have screens. Every house I have been into in Michigan has had screens. Do they not use screens outside of Michigan?

I use a screen too.. But screens aren't very appealing.. visually speaking.. Also, when you shine a light through a screen (assuming they have lighing coming from that direction to represent sunlight) the screen will cast an annoying shadow..

it's so that you get a feeling of depth and space in the scene. I guess when you can see out the windows in films, you just get a better feeling that it is real or something.

movies dont have them because they're ugly.

although, i have seen houses without window screens, but that was in europe.

All the movies I watch must contain screens. If they don't, I get up and leave.

Most likely the same reason that cars in movies have their rear-view mirror removed when the camera is on the drivers & passenger seats when filmed through the windshield :)
