Windows Graphics Driver Installation Issues

For several months I have been unable to update my nVidia graphics driver on my Win 7 Pro installation. I know the ultimate solution to my problem is to do a clean re-install.

However, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas.

The Windows Update Error Code is 800F0104. I have searched extensively and tried a variety of solutions, including: clean startup, using the MS Fixit program to reset Windows Update, using CC cleaner, using Driver Max to install. Nothing works. It will not install via Windows update or via nVidia's own installer.

The video card in question is an nVidia GTX 550 Ti.

Before you do a wipe and reinstall, do a google search on how to manually remove the nVidia drivers. If it works, great, you saved having to reinstall. If it doesn't work, you'll still have to reinstall (which you would have to do anyway).

Did you try reverting back a release or to to see if it is an installer bug?
