Windows freezing

How do you troubleshoot windows if it just freezes? There is no blue screen of death, no reboot, nothing.

CHKDSK runs at reboot and file corruption results normally random stuff but it's fixed every time. Heat isn't the issue. Norton suite is installed. It can freeze 2-3 times a day or go a week and be fine.

Regrettably, hardware failure is a common cause of this. And intermittent hardware failures are very hard to track down.

I'd start by getting the RAM testing utility from http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp and let it run overnight.
