Just put together this system.

Abit KG20 MB
Athlon XP 1800+ Retail
PNY 256 DDR (PC2100 I think) with infeneon chips
Maxtor 40 Gig 7200 rpm
Kyro 3D 32MB 2x/4x AGP Video Card
Codegen 300XA - 300Watt (ATX 2.01)

This is my first Abit mobo and there are no jumper settings directly for the CPU - just the CPU FSB settings.

The system works flawlessly and does not freeze when I have the CPU FSB setting at 100mhz - but it only posts the processor speed at around XP 1600+.
When I switch the CPU FSB to 133mhz it posts XP 1800+ but it will feeze W2K within a few minutes.

My first thought is that the power supply is the issue - its a used ps from my old system (K6-2 500) about 2 years old. Or maybe its the cheap a$$ PNY ram.

Should I start with a new power supply or new ram?

Freezing is also often caused by a video display problem. Set everything in BIOS to the safest settings and go from there.
