Windows File sharing and hacking??

The Wildcard

HEllo, i just have a question, i am on a dialup modem connection right now and I used to be on a ethernet network so i had file and print sharing turned on.

One day, after logging off, i was about to turn off my computer, when it said " there is 1 user connected to your comp"

I was surprised and didn't think to use netwatcher to see who it was but i was wondering if it is possible somebody might have hacked into my system because i had file and print sharing on?

The good news is that i didn't have any folders/drives/printers shared at all, but would it still be able for him to get in?

The_Wildcard,

At the very least you should unbind all file/print sharing items from TCP/IP for every adapter in your system. Then you should disable NETBIOS. The Shields! UP web site will explain how.
