What is that supposed to mean?

PC speaker = thing inside case, not thing plugged into sound card.

Check your volume control for PC speaker. You may need to go into the options/properties and check it off, so that it appears.

Try turning your case around, the output from the external speaker wire may be picking up interference and inducting the sound from the PC speaker wire. Sometimes, although rarely, It may be windows exploring an 'alternative' sound style. You should be supportive of it.

What am I looking for?

Set everything to "Windows Default" and it still happens.

Snip the PC speaker wires with scissors that should sort it.

Here's what you have to do. Find the wires going to the PC speaker. Disconnect the wires from the speaker, and connect them to the line in/cd in/aux in/or modem in on your sound card. Waaalaaa! Sounds come through speakers again.

You've been playing too much Operation: Neptune! and the pufferfish attacked your sound card.
