Hello,
I have Windows XP Professional installed and this error continually shows up in my "Event Viewer"... well actually these three... the three of them happen in about a 30 second timeframe, and it usually leads to a freeze. From what i gather the bios is reading from an illegal memory module...
Here are the three error codes in question:
1)
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0xcfc), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.
2)
AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to write to an illegal IO port address (0xcf8), which lies in the 0xcf8 - 0xcff protected address range. This could lead to system instability. Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance.
3)
Error code 100000ea, parameter1 81561da8, parameter2 8169e970, parameter3 8175b0a8, parameter4 00000001.
Now from what i can tell, this error is due to the bios reading and writing to an area of RAM... ? If this is the case, do i need to replace my ram? Or is it that my actual bios chip is fried...
Any help and any suggestions on fixing this would be great... Microsoft's site wasn't very helpful and i've rebooted about 4 times today... 🙁
Thanks for your time
