When I go into control panel > system properties, my computer shows that I have 511 MB ram, when I have 512 MB ram. Any idea why Windows is doing that and how I can fix it? I know it's overkill, but it bugs me nonetheless. Thanks.
Win9x can't manage more than 512Mb RAM, maybe that last megabyte on that number is exclusive? BTW with that kind of amount of RAM windows shouldn't be able to use swap. Set swap size to constant 256Mb and see whereas you get "out of memory" error during startup or windows shows having only 256Mb RAM
