I've got a computer that in safe mode the monitor looks fline. In normal mode, once the windows 2000 screen goes away, the monitor's pitcure gets all garbled and I can't see a darn thing.

How do I fix this? Is it a registry setting? I tried d/l a registry monitor program and then changing the values in safe mode but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

I fixed it : )

In safe mode I uninstalled the video card. When I rebooted it autoinstalled it and put the resolution back to 640*480 so I could see it again. Then I was able to increase the resolution.

I am using an old monitor...it's a cheap(free) computer for my brother since he's movin out of my parents house.
