Running this to compress certain files saves space (like Office 2007 installation files) but does it degrade performance in any way?
 
I run it almost daily, never noticed any degradation (XP not Vista).

ALso, there's a 2nd tab which has a button to clear out old syst

em restore points, so the most recent point is the only one kept.
 
System Restore is disabled by GPO here.

I was curious because someone asked me to run it and it saved nearly 4GB of space and they wanted me to time it.
