Windows Detection Issues

I recently did a new installation of Windows XP Home on my computer. Its specs are as follows:
AMD 64 3000+
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe
1 Gig (2 x 512) Corsair Value Select Ram (Single Channel)
Powercolor ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
75 GB WD Raptor 10k RPM
Asus S520 52x CD drive
NUTech DVD-/+RW drive
NEC Floppy Drive
450 watt PSU

My 2 CD rom drives were being detected perfectly fine before I reinstalled Windows, and now neither of them are showing up anywhere within Windows, but they both show up in BIOS. The only drive that is showing up in Windows is the virtual drive that was there before I did the new installation. When I installed it, I used the New Installation process, instead of the Uprade. Can anyone help? I cant install anything without a disk drive.

Update/Bump: Now upon booting I getting a message saying Hard Disk Not Detected, To Continue Press F1. The only way to continue is to insert my XP disk. When I reboot an insert my XP disc, on the VIA scanning for HDD screen, it says there are no drives, whereas it use to say WDRPT750G or something along those lines. When installing windows, I pressed F6 to brind up the SCSI drive installation window. I put in the floppy and it detected it, which was previously a problem (apparently the ribbon cable was loose). Ive tried using both the RAID driver, and the ATA driver, and neither option detects the drive. The blue SATA cable glows when I turn the computer on, so I dont think its the cable. It seems that after plugging in the floppy cable, all of the other drives stopped working properly.

Can anyone help at all? Any help would be nice.

Unplug 1 of your optical drives, preferably the burner and try again.Install the burner(or other optical drive) after your WinXP install.

Footnote:Some Optical drives require the CS(cable select) jumpering depending on IDE interface/MB and/or if sharing IDE channels with another IDE device(HD or optical)

First of all, thanks for all the support, secondly, I can no longer get into windows as my HD (Raptor 75 gb) isnt being detected in bios or windows setup, thus I cant even get into my previous windows installation. The SATA cable is glowing blue like usuall, so I think that the cable is working, or atleast power is getting to it. The 2 optical drives are detected by bios, and the boot order is as follows:
1. 1ST FLOPPY
2. PM-ASUS CD-S520/A4
3. YUKON PXE (I have no idea what this is, it used to be the Raptor drive, then there was nothing there when the problem started, and now its the Yukon PXE thing)

Is my HD dead, because I can RMA it

I tried doing what you said in your other reply, unlugging the drive that is. It didnt work when I unplugged either. I then tried replacing my SATA cable with the stock one, no luck there, with any combo of unplugged optical drives. I heard no activity from the drive in any instances.

In all instances after instertingmy floppy disk in XP installation, and choosing the XP driver, I got the same message saying "No Mass Storage Device Found. Press F3 to continue"

I think my HD is dead, is this a possibility?

Well, through trial and error, I found that my HD didnt have proper power (had a fan attached to it).

And, as before the two optical drives dont work, so I cant reinstall windows as I cant get into the CD drive. They show up in BIOS, as before, and I unplugged the DVD drive, disabled the checking in BIOS, and XP still doesnt detect the drives. I think if I reformatte it would work. Canyone anyone verify that it would fix my problems, or inform me of a better fix?
