Windows Desktop Patterns

hi all

'tis been a while since i posted... i'm in need of yall's great powers once more!

i'm trying to find where the desktop patterns are actually stored on a windows 2000 computer. i've googled to no avail.

the patterns i'm talking about are the ones that you can change if you:

1) right click on the desktop and go to properties.

2) under the "background" tab, there is a "pattern" button.
this is where the patterns can be changed.

i wanna know where the actual image files are stored.

They're stored in the registry. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Patterns

thanks tk11... however, how do i go about copying that image into a local folder like My Documents so I can modify it in Photoshop? I tried regedit but i can't copy the file...
