Hello everyone. I am brand new to the forums and am glad to have found another community for everything tech. Just a little disappointed since CPU Magazine has now deleted their forum but glad to find a new 'hot-spot' nonetheless.

Just a simple question. I'm looking for an alternative to Windows defrag integrated utility. Any suggestions for a better solution for said task? I'm sure there are tons of utilities that do this, but I'd like a few freeware suggestions if possible.

Thanks in advance.

PS: I'm needing it for a Windows Vista machine.

Defragmenting won't actually do all that much for performance, in my experience. But if you need one, I'd recommend MyDefrag.

You've already wasted more time thinking about this than you'll likely save by using a 3rd party defrag tool. Just let Windows do it's thing in the background.
