Just recently i've lost my broadband connection and now im using dialup service. Im just about fedup with the software that dialup services provide me with. Many of the garbage they put into the system is useless. Netzero putting in another toolbar under IE and on the taskbar is completely annoying. My question is, are there ANY dialup services out there anyone knows that doesn't require the use of there software? It'd be great if i can use the windows dialup networking to connect instead of having to install in the software. Plz list them here and ill try them out. thx in advance for any help.

Um, almost every single ISP out there will accept windows dialup without using their software. Get their dialup number, your username & password, and you're set. Type it all in & hit connect. 99% of "custom dialers" are actually frontends to windows dialup.

when i first got netzero, i've tried that. never worked. I then called netzero techsupport and they said its required to use there software in order to connect. Am i doing something wrong? I've used the networking on xp for quite sometime, i dont think i got anything wrong.

well, if you're going to use a super-cheapo ISP, then yea, they want you to use their software so they can deluge you with advertisements. Get a decent ISP - even www.isp.com - and you're set.

I used wcoil.com for a dialup connection. This ISP is like 15 miles away from where I live. You don't have to install any software to use the connection. I got very good dialup connections with them.

They do have a nationwide service. You can check below and click on your state. To see if they offer a local access number for your area.
