so let me start by saying, I have tried

add/remove stuff 1 time

repair 2 times

and

I removed it 2 times and reinstalled it.

I cant see this being a problem with the actual files.

now, I have tried safe mode, no go.
administrator, everything. nothing is working.

I scanned with malawarebytes and nothing came up. I have antivir on active duty always

I tried system restore 3 times, giving me 3 different errors say how it CANT do it, one being in safemode.

I have seriously nothing else I can think of.

http://i977.photobucket.com/al...hgeardude/0707d42a.png

pic of error. happens everywhere i try and open it. even on the actual program through all the directories.

this has happened randomly. the only possible thing I can think of was that i installed some video conferencing programs yesterday that didnt work so i got rid of them, but even that, my friend did the same thing as me ( dl them) and he isnt having the problem

I have looked everywhere on the internet to try and solve this

Have you gone into your Office folder to locate Winword.exe or run a general search for that file?

yes, as said before I have already gone to all the directories. I tried to open the actual file named "winword.exe" and it tells me it doesnt work. I can post a screen shot

I don't have Win 7, but have you taken this computer off line and shut down your virus program, then try running winword.exe to see if it works - it may be blocking access...

nope, didnt work. I already tried it before and just tried it again to be sure. even did a restart to make sure no programs were on.

gonna try safe mode with no programs running, see if maybe it will work there

It seems like you tried pretty much everything - sorry if I haven't been much help.

I'll only offer more idea, and I'm sure you may have tried this as well, but have you run a reg fix program?

I can't recommend any one program for Win 7 - but your problem appears to me something was broken in your registry, maybe due to removing those video conferencing programs you mentioned...

Did you uninstall it before you ran ccleaner? You could try uninstalling office, running ccleaner to remove any extra stuff lying around, then reinstall and see if that works.

Can you right-click winword, click properties, and post what comes up? Maybe it's a permissions thing?

You could also try going at it from the command line.:

cd "c:\program files\Microsoft Office\office12\"
dir winword.exe
attrib winword.exe
winword.exe

I'm wondering if the mix of security software you're running is messing with your system. Many times, get too many running and they start to not play well together.....

From what I can see, you're running:

McAfee SiteAdvisor
Avira AntiVir Guard
Trend Micro Hijack This
Microsoft Security Essentials

Bet part of your problem, esp. the inability to do a system restore, is with running all these simultaneously.

A corrupt normal.dot is a common problem.
Search and delete. This should generate a new normal.dot.
