window's buttons optical illusion

Did you ever notice that a pushbutton on your computer screen appears as sticking out but when you turn the image over its pushing in? example - even the ones in the upper right look like they're pushed in.

The hard one is trying to see the engraved maroon colored lines as if they still appear engraved rather than embossed. 😛

a drop shadow would be a shadow on the outside... this is a bevel, then reversing the light direction of the bevel. Even if it was an inner drop shadow there would be no highlighted spots, it would be dark all around.
