I just reformatted my laptop. I had Windows Home on it originally and now i have Pro. When the computer boots up, it asks me if i wanna start Windows Home or Pro, but i formatted the drive. Anyone know what to do? Thanks.

Just remove the Windows XP Home entry from your BOOT.INI file.

Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery SETTINGS and click the EDIT button. Place a semi-colon (;) at the beginning of the line with "Windows XP Home".

There is a hidden file in your root directory called boot.ini.

Make a copy of that file to a bootable floppy (in case you need to recover it).
Then you can edit the original boot.ini and remove the line for Windows XP Home.
(Make sure the default is set to boot Windows XP Pro first).
