Okay so I had my Q6600 OC'd to 3.0 ghz with 1.31v and it was stable for about a week. Then today when I tried to restart my comp it froze up when restarting. When I went to boot it back up it reset the CPU freq back to stock.. so I just went with it. Windows doesn't boot. Any suggestions to fix this?

Specs:
Windows Vista 32bit
Q6600
GA-965P-DS3 motherboard (latest revision)
evga 8800 gts 640mb
4 gig of g.skill ram
74 gb raptor
320gb seagate
250gb maxtor

Insert your Vista DVD, boot to it, then do a repair install for startup.

before doing a repair install take a look at your bios and either set everything back to default or return them to the stable 3.0 settings you had for last week (also when you say stable what do you mean? (ie was it orthos stable or just general usage/gaming...))

the problem is fixed after i placed my bios back at default. Didn't try to OC it again... and about the stable.. it was under prime95 (all four cores stressed) for many.. many hours. Think it was an OC issue?
