Windows blue screen

I installed SoftFSB and kept increasing to 112. Now I get blue screens right when the music plays at start up in Windows 98SE. It will say either TBS PCI ERROR or some VXD error. I changed the SoftFSB settings back to default and uninstalled it. I reinstalled all drivers for my sound card--that didn't work. I then reinstalled Win98--that didn't work either. Did I kill my sound card with this f*cking SoftFSB? Please help!

You may need to do more then reinstall 98 over itself. That does not always replace corrupted files. Try removing the sound card and then see if you can boot and load at least in safe mode to remove the sound drivers. Then if you can boot normally, run System File Checker and see if any of those key files are replaced or corrupted, and manually replace them. If it is just the sound card, then removing it should fix it, but my guess it is a software and not a hardware problem.

It is very rare for software to damage hardware like that.

BTW . . . just out of curiosity, what is SoftFSB?

SoftFSB is a nuisance - I've tried it twice and it caused problems, although nothing terrible. They shouldn't be allowed to give away this kind of junk that's made by amateurs for amateurs.
