Windows backups-Problem???

I have a peer to peer network. I am trying to backup the harddrive from one machine to another using the backup program in Win98SE (which all machines have) over the network. All machines have large HDD with tons of space left. But about halfway thru backing up I get a message saying insufficient disk space ? Does anybody know why -again I have more than adequate space available on all HDD's

If you are using FAT32 file system, Windows 98 has a 4 gigabyte limit.
That is the way Micrsoft designed it.

To get around the limit, you need to breakup the backup into multiple 4 gig sessions.
 

FAT16 file size limitation is 2GB

FAT32 file size limitation is 4GB

Just screw the backup program & use xcopy with map drive.
