Question Windows and BIOS reporting different BIOS versions. Why?

Hello, I've recently updated the BIOS on my Gigabyte Aorus Ultra Gaming x470. Previously it was version F2, updated to F31 and downloaded the EC FW update to handle the newer 3000 series processors. When using CMD prompt, it's reporting F31, but when I restarted to update to F40, the BIOS reported it as still being version F2. Being cautious with BIOS as my tech level isn't terribly advanced, is this something I should disregard and proceed with the update to F40? Or should I attempt to resolve this issue first? I only ask because updating to F40 without updating to F31 tends to cause substantial problems from what I've read. Thanks.

I've found a resolution to the problem. It appears that the EC FW update automatically resets the BIOS to F2 after running. Reflashed BIOS to F31 after the fact, then updated to F50 and have had no issues since.
