The win98 startup floppy, created by win98, contains Adaptec drivers. Or, you can add the card's DOS drivers to a simple DOS boot floppy and load them in config.sys.
Actually you need to overwrite the Adaptec drivers that are created on the Win98 boot disk with the ones that Adaptec supplies with the card. If you don't you won't be able to use a SCSI CD-ROM for a fresh install if it's attatched to that card.
Trust me, I just did a fresh install of Win98 and had to do this. If you need the newer DOS drivers just let me know and I can email them to you. They're named exactly the same as the ones on the boot disk so you just overwrite them. Easy as pie.
