OK, I recently downgraded from 2000 to 98se and what a big damn mistake that was. I have had errors that never occured in 2000. What happens is when I go into windows, i have to login, but i press escape. If I do not press it soon enogh and it sits there, a green line will appear at the top of the screen and lockup. If I get in ok, i get an error about my cordless logitech mouse causing an error with kernal32.dll. I hate that file!!! Also the programs that I tell it to startup DONT. Like Norton 2001 doesnt start the autoprotect at startup and neither does my cordless keyboard config button or caps and numlock buttons appear in the systray. WINDOWS 98 IS ABOUT READY TO BITE THE F'ING DUST AGAIN VERY SOON. i HATE IT SO MUCH AND I AM QUESTIONING MYSELF AS TO WHY I INSTALLED IN. Please any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would reformat the hardrive reinstall Win98SE,don`t forget the Via 4 in 1 drivers(install the Via AGP driver at least)also there is a new mouseware drivers for your Logitec mouse from here for 9.26 version after this see if it`s stable before installing any other software like Norton`s etc.

Btw I`ve a cordless logitec mouse.(never had problems with it)I`m using the above mouseware 9.26.

Here's what you got to do. Format your hardrive and then put back Win2K. All you problems will go away. You should be ashamed of yourself for going back to Win98:disgust:

But if you still want to install Win98 follow Mem's advice. Only install the essentials first, then everything else. This way you can find out what is causing the problem.
