Windows 98 - Largest Hard Drive support is?

What's the maximum partition limit size in GB for Windows 98? Is it 32GB or can you go higher? I might be getting it mixed up with Windows 95

It's definitely higher than 32GB, because I use Win98 and have a 60GB drive in one partition. According to this page on Microsoft's website, the limit for Win98 using FAT32 is 127.53 GB.

<< The limit is 127GB. >>

Is ATA133 not supported under fat32? The Maxtor site shows win98 as a supported OS for the ATA133 expansion card which would increase the partition size to well above 128GB.

Please don't quote me on this, but I believe formatting a hard drive and a controller addressing the capacity are different things.

The partition size is a limitation of the formatting standard.

The controller can address greater capacity, but the partitions won't be larger than 127.53 GB in FAT32.

I think brinstar117 is right,
it doesn't matter what controller you use.
The limit is because of "Fat32".
The controller just lets you use larger Hard drives.
"ATA133" is actually just a term used to say
it has a faster possible data transfer rate than an ATA66 or ATA100
controller. YMMV
