windows 95 startup

I can't get windows 95 to start. While it is starting it gives "invalid system disk" If I put in the floppy startup disk it will say "starting windows 95" and then go to the a: prompt. I can't get to the hard drive. I tried safe mode but it didn't work. This all started when I was trying to install a new cd burner. It would start part way and then give errors about the config.sys file. Now I just want to get back to the original state.

Did you change any jumpers on the hard drive? Did you insure that the cables are properly connected to the hard drive? As long as you did nothing to the hard drive, it should work. Seems like a cable/jumper problem to me.
