windows 8...whay all the pop ups?

That is totally a Windows related issue.

There is no chance that it is caused by independent software, malware, or browser add-ons - no, it's undoubtedly the OS.

Your only choice is to downgrade to Windows 7. Make sure you slipstream SP1 so that you KNOW you're getting the latest and greatest OS from the get-go.

Actually it is totally fixed!!
The secret is to go into the notifications tab and turn off all the notifications except fpor the ones you desire such as updates to your OS...etc....
