windows 8 temp reporting

I use open hardware monitor. Has more features than the free hwmonitor from CPUID.

It will record current, minimum and maximum temperatures, voltages and clock speeds. If you're just interested in the CPU section you can go into the options and disable the monitoring for everything but the CPU.
 
Coretemp or realtemp. They are small one file executables (or just one directory) which don't have to be installed.
