i'm running vista 64 on my mac right now, and it's doing pretty well for games, so i'll probably wait til they iron out the bugs in it (sp1) and then upgrade. I might wait til WIN X, though.

seriously, besides Fallout 3, i have yet to have any problems gaming with Vista. I mean, besides gaming, whats windows good for... so no hurry here.

What video card do you have on your mac? Do you dual boot, or run straight windows?

hd3870

i was thinking about putting in a second and running crossfire, but i was going to way for a real 4870 efi card. i wouldn't mind two.

i run OSX for production, and then Vista 64 for fun.

Nice. Do you do any gaming on it much. I know macs aren't great for games.

i play

COD4
COD5
L4D
C&C3
Fallout 3 (when it isn't crashing)
Dead Space
DOW:Soulstorm
farcry 2

And a bunch of other games.
I use vista to game.

It's a Pro, so while not the perfect gaming rig, the specs don't hurt:

2x 2.83 quad core xeon
12gb ram
the ram is the only thing that holds it back, since it uses fb-dimms, but i hardly notice. haven't had any problems with any games so far.

It depends on how it looks at release. If it's the same bloated, unsupported, drm invasion tool that Vista was, then I'll just stick with XP &/or Linux. If it looks at least halfway acceptable I'll be glad for the upgrade.

I don't think it will be a huge difference so if you didn't like Vista I don't think you will like Windows 7.

Sad panda. *shrug* Oh well, XP/Linux works fine for everything anyway. If MS wants any more of my money (ever) they'll just have to pull their heads out.
