Windows 7 User - Moving away from OUTLOOK. Suggestions?

I am moving away from using MS Outlook for my EMAIL/TASKS/CONTACTS/CALENDAR. As I no longer have a windows mobile phone, I really don't see the need for Outlook anymore.

Do any users have a recommendation for a Windows 7 64bit user that will handle these tasks? I will keep my contacts in gmail (google contacts) but not sure how well using their calendar will be, as i will always have to log into gmail to see the stuff, opposed to have it locally on my desktop.
