Windows 7 Upgrade Drivers

I am preparing to make an attempt to make a clean upgrade install to Windows 7. I have a question that I would like answered before I start. My data is backed up on Carbonite. My question is how do I determine what specific drivers to I need to have handy and what drivers can I transfer from my backup? Dumb question I know, But I have never attempted this before.

Intel e6600 Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 GHz
Noctua NH-U12P Cooler
ASUS P5Q Pro

OCZ Reaper 2X2GB DDR2 800 (PC 6400)

EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640 MB
WD 250GB GB SATA II
Corsair CMPSU 550W
Windows XP Home

Install windows and it will install all the drivers automatically. You can get the newest version of drivers for your videocard or soundcard but other than that the drivers win 7 installs should be fine.

Curious, but are you going to 32 or 64 bit? That would be the only time I would worry about drivers, especially if you are using an old printer that the mfr may not have released any 64 bit drivers for.

No, I have to stay with 32 bit for a while. I may buy Windows 7 Full as I understand that I get both 32 and 64 bit. That way when I can go to 64 bit at least I will have the OS already.

I don't think you need to buy Full to get to 64 bit. I went from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit doing a clean install using the "Upgrade" disk.

If you are a student w/ a .edu email, the $29 student "upgrade" (which is really full) version might be available again
