Windows 7 & True Image

Good news everyone!
True Image by Acronis is now compatible with Windows 7!
Have anyone already tried to use it or any other backup software whith win7?

Its good that they officially support W7 now. But even my rusty TI 10 worked, what seemed to be just fine, with the RC of 7. 😛

I ran the TU 2010 beta in Win 7 for awhile and was not all that impressed. Worked fine but it was more than I needed. I just use Max Blast 5 to create system images. Thats all I really require.

I have successful cloned using Acronis True Image Hom Version 11.
However, I used the version using the IsoLinux bootloader that Acronis told me to download from their site so I could use it on my P35 chipset (P35's had a problem with the disk they shipped me).

For basic imaging, I don't understand why the latest and greatest version of TI is needed.

Just create a bootable CD and do all of you imaging outside of the Windows GUI. Never failed me yet and I didn't have to wait until TI officially supported Win7.

I guess I should have been more specific in that is the way I did it.

And I agree that is the best way, imho.

That's odd, because i am using TI Home on my Win7 x64 for a while already and made restores and backups all the time.

Depends of the version. True Image 9 refused to work on Win 7 running it from the boot disc. True Image 10 would create an image but fail during the restore. True Image 11 no problems creating and restore from boot disc.
