Windows 7 taking too much space?

yeah that is why you install the SP1 slipstream'd version of win7 - disk cleanup won't nuke that old version of sp1?

it is always better to use a slipstreamed version. this is what i used. (just reformatted 2 days ago to do a slipstreamed win7 SP1 x64 install)

The drivers are in the Windows folder and funnily enough IE is more or less a shell around some dlls also in the Windows folder and takes up 4.93mb for me 😉

But I see - I deactivated system restore, or to be more exact store backups on other drives - if you leave that on your C drive yep that'll account for the difference easily.
