Windows 7 taking too much space?

yeah that is why you install the SP1 slipstream'd version of win7 - disk cleanup won't nuke that old version of sp1?

it is always better to use a slipstreamed version. this is what i used. (just reformatted 2 days ago to do a slipstreamed win7 SP1 x64 install)

Off the top of my head, IE would be most of it, along with misc. driver utilities.
The drivers are in the Windows folder and funnily enough IE is more or less a shell around some dlls also in the Windows folder and takes up 4.93mb for me ;)

But I see - I deactivated system restore, or to be more exact store backups on other drives - if you leave that on your C drive yep that'll account for the difference easily.
