My wife's laptop
Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition
Atheros Network driver
I've always told her to sleep her computer when she leaves to save power/wear tear on the computer.
After sleep resumes on her laptop, the atheros driver and wireless device is simply gone in the 'device' manager. When I right click at the top of the device manger to scan for hardware changes manually, it does scan and and find the wireless device and it comes back to life. Obviously, I'd like this to do it on it's own.
I have uninstalled the driver - and reinstalled the latest from ACER. I have accepted the latest microsoft update for this driver. I still have the issue. To be clear, the device is simply missing from the device manager, this is not an issue with my router or dhcp or the like.
Thanks for thoughts. . .
