Staples had the home premium for 119 with 70$ instant rebate through their online site making around 49.99. Went OOS for sometime. Not sure if it is back on.

Newegg charged my card and posted a tracking number from CA, although it's not showing up in UPS's system just yet. And I'm in Illinois...wouldn't it have made more sense to ship it from the Memphis warehouse?

They haven't shipped mine yet. :(

It's BS 'cause after I made the pre-order ealier this year I changed my address and told them about it but they still complained about my address being incorrect today. Oh well, it's only Windows 7.

Well, Amazon finally hit my card, and I got an e-mail from Newegg, but I don't have the e-mail with the tracking number yet from Newegg, so I guess they haven't shipped mine yet.

The Staples Family Pack that I ordered says it will be here on the 27th, shipping UPS.

Edit: Newegg is going to be shipping it to me today! :)

My Amazon order (with free super saver shipping) has not shipped yet - I'm downloading my other pre-order from Digital River. :)

If you log into your newegg account and click on your order you should see the tracking number there if it exists

NE also sends things out in the late afternoon (after 2pm) so check later in the day and see if it got sent out. Usually when I buy from NE I check updates once in the mid-morning and then again once before supper.

Mine left Edison, NJ today on its way to Jacksonville, FL. Estimated delivery is 10/26. So on Monday I guess at latest. Not a problem for me. It wouldnt surprise me though if it shows up before that. I have seen it happen before. Just need to be patient folks. :)

Mine shipped on the 21rst from Newegg. The tracking shows projected arrival of October 23, but I don't think it will happen. This would be less than the usual 3 days it takes from So Cal to Seattle, at least based on previous purchases from NE. So Monday for me.

I noticed the $58 was charged a few days ago. It said I would be charged when it is available for download or shipped, however MS store says my order is "processing"

It also said when I bought it that I would be able to upgrade from my windows 2000 license and that seemed to have been retracted.

Got it a few minutes ago with the free shipping from NE. It's nice to live within a 1 day radius of a NE warehouse. lol

I thought they all came with both versions?

Well, I thought so too. It says 32bit on package but when I went back to NE it lists both a seperate 32bit and a seperate 64bit OEM Home. So now I'm scratching my head going... Hmmmm.

Edit: After further reading around here it seems Full Retail version has both 32 *and* 64 bit on disk but Full OEM only has one version and the buyer needs to choose either the 32bit version *or* 64bit version when purchasing. That would support what NE is showing as well as what it says on the package. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Yes, that's the way that Vista was too. The only difference is that only Vista Ultimate included both 32-bit and 64-bit media, whereas with Win7, even Home Premium and Professional also include both 32-bit and 64-bit.

I'm a bit puzzled why MS ships the OEM as one flavor or the other.

Yeah, it would be easier I think if the OEM came with both versions but I imagine MS has their reasons for doing it the way they did it. I'll have to send it back and exchange it for the 64bit version. Glad I didn't open the MS package.

The good news is that I called NE they will do the RMA since I did not open the MS product box. As a note for anyone who buys a O/S from NE they normally do not allow refund of software but if you never opened the MS product box they will do it apparently. I called their 1-800 and the lady was nice enough to authorize a RMA once I explained I got the wrong product. Be sure when you order W7 OEM that you pay attention to the product you select. Retail W7 has both the 32bit and the 64bit on the disc but the OEM only has one version. So when ordering be sure you choose the right version. There is a 32bit version and a 64bit version. This is the first time I ever had to RMA something from NE and so far its gone smoothly.
