Windows 7: Setup is checking Video Performance

My low end computer is stuck at this point in the install. Is this really neccessary?

18 minutes and still hasn't passed this point...

As to why it is taking so long... I have no idea.

But it is better to have it take a minute or two (how long it took on my system... maybe even less) to see what the GPU can do and the resolution of the monitor and all that so that when the user gets into the OS, they are actually greeted by the best looking UI they can handle, at the correct res (this was the first time that upon first boot into Windows, all the display stuff was already taken care of for me)

After 45 minutes I had to reboot, they should remove that from the RC and RTM. People don't need to know that their integrated video sucks.

I think something misfired on your install. It didn't take any time on my VM install, and that doesn't have gfx acceleration of course.

I had that happen before a few times esp on low end systems. I just rebooted and then had to add a new user account to get into system. I agree be nice if there was a way to turn off the checking. Anyone know if thats a option you ca set in vlite?
