Well, I'm guessing some of the 'insider' types might have gotten their hands on RTM build already.. So I have a question. Not too long ago (@Computex?) AMD/NV/MS were showcasing drag-n-drop transcoding of video clips to portable devices in real time. (presumably via GPU acceleration) Does anyone know how this works?

It is not a feature of the OS. I'm looking at the RTM files now and no mention of any such feature. Probably an application they had running similar to badaboom.

On the contrary, the functionality is all the Media Foundation API. I'm not sure if there are any applications included in Win7 that can take advantage of it though.

That is what I meant. It is not a feature ,like something included with the OS. There is no transcoding application.

seems 7600.16385 was voted all yes for RTM.

Can WZOR be trusted?
No. It's a lot like The Inquirer, sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.

Indeed nothing is officially official until Microsoft announces it. Im not gonna be installing anything until its official.

In two weeks on Aug 6, the real RTM will be generally available for those with access (MSDN, Technet, etc). I wouldn't bother with the torrents over two weeks time difference. Let's face it, the RC is relatively stable and for 99% of the people will be more than good enough until they get their hands on the RTM copy.

Thank you. I am looking forward to seeing what they will offer - price, quality, speed, etc.
