Windows 7 RC

I know, stupid me for not downloading it when it was being hosted by Microsoft. Too late.

Anybody know where I can find a legitimate download of the ISO now? I already have a key, I just need the file. Thanks in advance.

Ed: Nevermind, the link appears to be dead

Try searching the filename on a torrent site that has lots of user comments. (eg. 7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULFRER_EN_DVD.iso or 7100.0.090421-1700_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULFRER_EN_DVD.iso for Windows 7 RC Build 7100).

Usually, you can trust the comments. For peace of mind, you can verify the SHA/MD5 hash.

Do you know anyone who has it? I ended up getting a copy of the ISO from a friend who also downloaded the RC.

Yea, its' not on the MS site anymore. Though I think you can still generate CD keys? (At least you can refernce the CD keys they gave you before) - but no ISO download.

thanks dfnkt, i also got that email. i decided to give it a try, and downloaded the 64bit enterprise eval. i installed it on my HTPC running an athlon 64 4000+ with 4gb ddr, and it was so chunky it was unusable. on the system monitors and task manager, it showed the CPU utilization at 100% even on idle.

i'm guessing that old CPU can't really handle 64bit, so i will give 32bit a try.

I have been running Win7 Pro 32 on a Pentium D 820 and 2 gigs of ram and i see no performance difference coming from XP Pro.
