windows 7 RC question

You have to reinstall. An activated copy of the RC will qualify for an upgrade license but you will have to do a "custom" installation and create a new Windows installation then re-install all of your applications.

ah...thanks! I'm just going to wait for the release of win7 so i dont have to reinstall all my apps. thanks, again.

Yes I am. From the Microsoft Windows 7 FAQ:

"Can I upgrade from the RC to the final version of Windows 7?

When you install the final version of Windows 7, you'll need to do a clean installation. So plan on backing up your data then reinstalling your applications and restoring your data. "

Microsoft has stated that the Windows 7 Upgrade discs will allow upgrades from the Windows 7 RC.
What Microsoft has said is that an activated copy of the RC will qualify for an upgrade license...but you can't do an in-place upgrade from anything but Vista.
