I also got both versions, and can't get over how smooth it went. I'm going to upgrade my current vista x64 setup. Are the keys reuseable like last time?

Stupid Akamai downloader activeX control. Only installs and runs in my Admin account on XP. Limit user account appears to work, but simply does nothing.

After this download, I've really got the bug to subscribe to TechNet Plus. :D

1. Are there any scubscribers here?
2. If so, is having access to TechNet downloads as much fun as it sounds?
3. What kind of restrictions are there on installations for subscribers?

Damn. 3GBs. I have a 2GB/mo download cap. I'll just download it from work...the connections' a lot faster anyway. :D

Who's running the 64-bit? Any hardware issues? BTW: How do you all feel about the OS "calling home" constantly? I certainly hope the real retail version doesn't do that.

blah I keep running into dowload issues with firefox two different times. The first time I had about 900MB already downloaded and it error out due to reading the source or somethen like that. The 2nd, I was at 2.6GB then the same error popped up again. Now this time I'm downloading with internet explorer 8 and using the download manager from microsoft website

weird, I installed the ActiveX but I am unable to download. I click the Download Now button it takes me to the next page where the download should start, but then kicks me back to the prevous page. The one that gives you the key.

Weirdness. I guessing that its because the severs are getting hammered?

You might want to try torrents.
It is the exact same copy as MS.
Just match the MD5 sums.

Any one know if there is a "reset" evaluation command that can be used like there was for Vista? I know in the beta for Windows Vista there was a way to do it up to 2 or 3 times, effectively giving you almost a year to evaluate a beta version.

Just tried the download again, still errors out.

I started around 10am EST with IE after firefox errored out again when I was downloading the files. They were about 80% done or so, and it failed.

Whew!
Just finished downloading both 32&64 bit version.
It's time to retire my x64 XP OS in one of my rigs.
The 32 bit then will get installed into my little eeePC.
