It put my Realtek lan drivers on right away. Cool. But nothing else.

what are you guys using or do you know of beta drivers somewhere that I can find.

I googled Windows 7 RC chipset drivers and went to Realtek & Logitech website but nothing.

??

OK
the Realtek and Logitech drivers installed without a hitch and seem to be working great.

The following items from the device manager say that no device drivers are installed.
Direct Memory Access Controller
High Precision Event Timer
Intel(R)82802 Firmware Hub Device
Intel(R) ICH9 Family SMBus Controller - 2930
Numeric Data Processor
Programmable interrupt controller

I downloaded the x48 chipset drivers from Intel and tried updating from inside Device Manager. It acts like it is updating but these devices continue to report that no device driver is installed. I also tried running the X48 inf update and it also acts like it is doing something but when I go check, these all still say that no device driver is installed.

Even freakier is that some of them say, when you try to update, that they are up to date and won't let you try to update while all the while they say that no device drivers are installed when you go to check.

Advice?

Edit. My devices say the same thing. There are no exclamation points.. I'd say you're fine if you can go to devices and printers and there are no triangles over the one with your computer name.

I've been using this for several weeks now and everything runs fast and perfectly.

I have the same board as you, btw.

Cool!

Any other tips? Maybe something I haven't thought of?

My understanding is that video drivers are the main potential driver compatibility issue between Vista and W7. The video card makers took care to provide W7 drivers for their product in the W7 Install DVD.

Win7 runs just fine with older drivers. The only issue is that since older drivers are not WDDM 1.1, you don't get any of the new features that are a product of that.

Just use the Vista drivers. Win 7 was designed to use Vista drivers if no suitable drivers exist packaged for Win 7.
