Windows 7 non OEM version?

Ok, I see. So if you aren't gonna sell the comp, what's the point of the retail?

I think it comes down to a matter of support.

If you have problems with the OEM version and call microsoft, you will probably be told to call the OEM supplier.

maybe that you can use it 10 yrs down the road? i am still on my retail version of XP.

personally, that's a very unlikely scenario for me. With Win 8 around to corner, I'll probably upgrade to win 8 with the next mobo purchase.

I think XP's longevity was in large part due to the fact that Vista was such a joke.

Odd, www.newegg.ca doesn't have any Windows 7 home OEM for sale?

Looking to build my friend a computer and can't find the OS?!?
How weird; most of the editions of Win7 are deactivated on Newegg.ca. I guess you'll have to try another retailer or order from Newegg.com (if you can). There's certainly no logical explanation for the lack of Windows at this time.

seven is certainly nice, but somethings are missing or just plain bug me to tears. Too many nannies.
