Just curious if the OP resolved this and what the issue was? Having a very similar issue myself

I have a very similar problem...my wifes PC stopped connecting after running fine since the build 3 weeks ago. I booted a Live CD (Ubuntu) and the E Adapter works fine on the MB, have been using the same Netgear Router for years and it works fine, wireless is also OK. I think Win 7 did something to the adapter. I made sure I took it out of sleep mode and loaded the latest Realtek drivers, driving me almost nuts. At this point I cannot perform a "Repair Install" because Win 7 wants to go to the internet to finish. Any help appreciated...thx!

Same issue suddenly. My wifes PC starting doing this yesterday. The weird part is she can see and access every PC on my network and transfer files, but she can not go to anything online. She cant even log into the router itself too. It makes no sense, I have done all the above mentioned things and nothing fixes it.

What troubleshooting steps have you taken?

Have you done a virus scan?

Everything, virus scan, reinstalled drivers and more. It has a network connection.... it can see other PCs but it refuses to go online even if I know the IP so it is not a DNS issue. Tho I did try 8.8.8.8 for the google DNS server and same issue. The PC just won't go online, I have sapped ports on the router too and same issue.

I ended up correcting mine, not even sure what was causing the problem. I updated the BIOS, reset BIOS settings and reset my router to factory defaults even though I had not changed any settings. I even reinstalled windows 7 first, which didnt help, so I ended up restoring from my WHS and it is working OK now.

My issue ended up being a config issue between our router and our firewall. For those having this issue - try doing a traceroute to 4.2.2.1 and post the results

I eventually removed the RAM and re-installed after about a minute. There seems to be a sleep issue with the NIC and the H55 chipset...working fine now.
