I just installed Windows 7 RC on my laptop, to replace Vista.

I have a ESS license but was getting fed up with the high cpu usage when turning on advanced heuristics and its mediocre firewall. So until Comodo releases a Windows 7 version I thought I should give the 'beta' Kaspersky a try.

I currently turned on the highest settings for security, including a HIPS style AV and whitelisting firewall it seems.

1. I notice that it constantly asks me about changes to svchost etc. If I acidentally pressed block or wasn't at the computer at the time is there any permanent harm that could be done?

2. Is it worth it to use such extensive whitelisting? I worry that if I set rules they will come back to haunt me if these rules are essentially 'exploited' by malware. I tend to just press Allow rather than create a ton of rules.

3. Moreover, I am using opendns, which means AFAIK rules are set for resolver1.opendns.com and resolver2.opendns.com etc. rather than the correct IP. Any harm in this?

Much appreciated!
