Sorry, but you are very wrong. This particular scanner did not work under Vista. Not only did it not work in my case, it didn't work in anyone's case. I did a lot of research on this. I believe someone got it to work under 64bit vista, but I couldn't find a single person who had in working in 32bit version...

The link in the OP is talking about a "Visioneer OneTouch 8100" scanner. I did a google search for that exact term and this is literally the first google result:

The subject scanner works with Vista. I had Vista scan for the drivers on
my XP partition where I had originally installed the scanner. Vista found
them and installed the scanner.

Every other google result says you're supposed to install the 9420 drivers in order to get the 8100 working in Vista.
